When black hair magazine is your very first shoot, it is surely a sign of things to come. London born and raised Ufuoma Itoje began her modelling career at the age of 16, when she was asked by her hairdresser to model for his campaign. From that moment on the modelling, law degree student discovered it was where her passion lied. Since the first shoot Ufuoma has graced the page of many a magazine, walked down many a runway and worked with some of the most well-regarded people in the industry.
In 2011, Ufuoma thought it was time to take it to the next level and she entered the prestigious competition, Britain and Irelands Next Top Model, fronted by Elle Macpherson. After making it down to the final cut from thousands of girls from all over the country, Ufuoma made it into the house. Watched by millions of viewers all over the world, Ufuomas face began to be known and before she left the show, the offers had already started flooding in.
Ufuoma has been seen on the runway of some of the most revered catwalk shows and wore the clothes of many of the most respected designers in the world, these include Britain’s Next Top Model Live, Joey Bevan Stylist, The London College of Fashion LCF Love Show, Tiffany Amber for LFW 2011, Essex Fashion Week, Fashion Galore 2009, Wimbledon Fashion Week 2010, Alexander Mcqueen Inspired Fashion Show 2010, iheartfashion runway show 2010 and more.
Of course, it doesn’t just stop at the runway though; Ufuoma has recently been seen in the likes of Pride Magazine, Online Vogue, Black Beauty Magazine, New Africa Magazine, Flavour Magazine, Company Online, Grazia Daily, Fab Mag and Disorder Magazine. She has modelled for the likes of ASOS, Sleek, Canterbury as well as being the face for both Choice’s Summer 2012 collection and Sheeba Raye Cosmetics, a little cameo in Dbanjes music video ‘Oliver twist’ which features Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and Keisha from the sugababes (soon to be released) is also one to also watch out for.
Whether it is catwalk or campaign, magazine or music video, Ufuoma Itoje has a bright future ahead. Her determination, versatility and personality are the elements that will push her forward in a fiercely competitive world.
